Our Story

The world has fast fashion. We have slow home.

Every piece we make takes time, the time of an artisan who learned their craft from a parent, who learned it from theirs. Time spent shaping solid mango wood on a lathe, carving a tray by hand, fitting a lid that closes just right. These are not objects made by the thousands in a factory overnight. They are made by people, one at a time, using techniques that have outlasted every trend that ever came and went. We design in Vancouver. They craft in India. And when the piece reaches your table, it carries both places inside it, the considered eye of a modern home and the unhurried hand that made it real.

That's what we mean when we say Design-Forward × Planet-Forward. Not a tagline. A way of making things.

The Hands

Your product started with a person.

A woodworker in India who picks up a chisel the way their father did, who reads the grain of the wood before they cut, who knows that a slightly-off joint will show in fifty years. That person is invisible in fast home decor. At Aesthetic Living, they are the whole story.

The Wood

Solid mango wood is not a marketing choice.

It's a material that has been worked by South Asian craftspeople for centuries. It's dense, warm, beautifully grained, and gets better with use. It is the opposite of veneer — there's nothing hiding underneath. What you see is what it is, all the way through. That honesty is what we mean by solid.

The Time

A piece that takes two days to make will last two decades.

A piece stamped out in two minutes will last two seasons. We are not in a hurry. Our artisans are not in a hurry. When you buy something from Aesthetic Living, you are buying the unhurried hours that went into it — and those hours live in the object, invisibly, for as long as you keep it.

Designed in Vancouver. Crafted in India.

Our cross-cultural collaboration brings together modern design sensibility and centuries-old craftsmanship traditions.

Design-Forward

We believe beautiful objects should be intentional. Every curve, every proportion, every detail is considered. Our pieces are designed to work in modern homes — clean lines, honest materials, timeless forms that don't chase trends.

Planet-Forward

For every product sold, we plant a tree. We use sustainable mango wood from managed forests. We work with artisans who are paid fairly and treated with respect. We make things that last, so you buy less and keep longer.

Some things take time to make. Those are the things worth keeping.
